Not that I’m ready for it, but I look forward to the rhythm changes material! I have worked extensively with a Herb Ellis book on rhythm changes and have learned a lot of lines but didn’t learn the fretboard as thoroughly as you are teaching it here, Richie.
Is this Leon Grizzard from Austin, Texas??? I love your Western Swing videos on YouTube!
Hey, Julian,
Thank you for posting the Jimmy Bruno video. I spent some time at his workshop but had not seen that video before. Very useful.December 14, 2015 at 1:54 am in reply to: 4321 string set fingerings and &th chords arps / scales #3251Thanks, Richie! I’ve just been here a few weeks and I’m already much better off for joining!
Ha! James, you’re probably right. I’m plenty busy, but when I’m not playing, my mind tends to ponder things I might play….
Also, since we’re learning blues, it might be useful to have some heads in common, especially if they highlight some aspect or another (leading tones, chromaticism, what have you) of the lessons from various modules.
December 2, 2015 at 12:40 am in reply to: That one fret stretch; Ring to Pinky – F Mixo First Position #3135Richie, I’m glad you addressed this because I just started the course yesterday and had the very same question! (When I learned some 3-notes-per-string scale fingerings years ago, I played them with index, middle finger, and pinky.)
Reading your answer here, I’m going to break the old habit and finger things the way you suggest.
