Module 6 : jazz études 14-15-16

Hi there,
I am currently working on the jazz etudes of Module 6, and I can’t get accustomed to some parts of the solos, that sound very weird to me, not to say unhandsome. It appears particularly on the I7alt mesure, and here and there on the solo.

I would like to have your thoughts about it. Is it because at this step, we are missing some vocabulary or techniques that will be learned in future modules, to get the full flavor of these sounds ? Is it because my ear is not yet enough trained to this (although I listen to a lot of jazz music of any style, even free jazz !) ?

I would like to have your comments and feelings about this. Thanks a lot !

I think your ear is not trained to hear this, and you are not used to the altered scale. There is nothing wrong with the etudes. These are all very typical bebop lines and techniques.
