Richie,
Here’s my list of errors in Module 7b.
– Bebop Calisthenics 13
– Page 85, last two measures in the Monkish exercise. All the chords in
the last two measures (C9 A7alt Dmin9 G7alt) don’t have a pattern
specified for them. I think they should be (pat.1 pat.6 pat.2 pat.5).– Lesson 7: Minor Tonalities
– Page 88, 1st line, 2nd measure. In the second half of the measure, the
intervallic is “#5 #4(under) #5”. The #4 is actually the 5(E). I assume
what you really wanted is “#5 ch(under) #5”.– Page 88, 4th line, 3rd measure. Under Em7b5 it shows pat 4 but the tab
indicates that this is pat 5.– Page 89, 1st line, 3rd measure. On the 3rd beat over the “blues turn”,
there should be an arrow from above going from the “ch 11”. Also the
pat 4 on the last beat of the measure should be on the third beat over
the “blues turn” and the last beat should go back to pat 2 or you could
probably argue that it ends up on pat 3 if you go by the specified
fingering.– Page 89, 2nd line, 4th measure. On the second beat, the last note on the
triplet (Bb) is marked as b5 and is tied into the next chord change (A7alt),
It should be notated something like “(b5) (ant) b9”. You do this on the
same line going from the 2nd to 3rd measure.– Page 89, 4th line, 2nd measure. The last note in the measure (D) has no
intervallic marking, but the note is tied into the next measure where it
is marked as 1. It should probably be marked as “1 (ant)” on the last
note of the measure.– Page 90, 3rd line, 4th measure. Under the Bb13, the intervallic is
“9 b3 9 1 9 b3 9 1”. It should be “6 b7 6 5 6 b7 6 5”.– Page 90, 4th line, 1st measure. The Cm7 is listed as pat 2 but the tab
indicates that it’s pat 1. One or the other is wrong.– Page 91, 1st line, 4th measure. Under the C7alt, the intervallic is
“b7 1 11(ant)”. It should be “b9 1 11(ant)”.That’s it for now.

May 21, 2018 at 6:39 pm #7483Thanks Mark! I have just uploaded new PDFs with corrections. At this pace you’re going to become a jazz theory scholar 🙂 At least I am happy to know you are understanding the concepts! So, will I get to hear you play sometime?

I haven’t had any problem understanding the concepts. I find them very
useful when trying to understand how to do jazz improv. Though, it’s going to
take me a while to get really proficient in everything. Probably a very long
while. 🙂Luckily, I have some music theory in my background and my ability to read
music is decent. I also took guitar lessons from a jazz guy for a few years
(a long time ago). That probably helps me get though the material easier.I’m not really set up to record myself here at home but maybe I can figure
something out. If I can, I’ll post it so you can hear it.Mark
