      In this first exercise, p.9 of the Workbook, the 3rd note in the first measure, over the I7, has the b7 (Eb) fingered using the 4th finger. However according to pattern 1, that note should be played with the 5th finger/pinky. That same typo appears where ever that same Eb shows up, in bars 3, 7, 8, and 11.

      In watching Richie play the exercise he also uses the 5th finger/pinky so this seems to clearly be a typo.

      Am I overlooking something?

        I believe I am overlooking something. Those numbers refer to the fret, not the fingers. They just so happen to match each other with the exception of that Eb.
